How to Know What to Revise
Most revision time goes on topics that were already secure. The way out is to find out rather than to guess.
In short
Do not trust the feeling of knowing
A method looks obvious while it is in front of you, and vanishes when it is not.
Test yourself with the book shut
Ten minutes of blank-page recall tells you more than an hour of reading.
Sort your topics into three piles
Secure, shaky, and not yet. Spend nearly all your time on the middle pile.
Use your marked work
Every question you got wrong is a revision list already written for you.
Check the skill underneath a weak topic
Ratio problems fail on fractions more often than they fail on ratio.
Sort them again every couple of weeks
The piles change, and revision should change with them.
